How UV lamps work :
Ultraviolet germicidal lamps works in the same principle as fluorescent lamps and energy-saving lamps. Mercury atoms in the lamp tube are excited to generate characteristic spectral lines of mercury. Low-pressure mercury vapor mainly produces ultraviolet light at 254nm and 185nm. Ordinary glass is used for fluorescent lamps and energy-saving lamps. Ultraviolet rays cannot be penetrated, and visible light is emitted after being absorbed by fluorescent powder. However, germicidal lamps are produced by ultraviolet-transparent glass or quartz glass.
The ultraviolet germicidal lamp achieves the purpose of sterilization by targeting the DNA of microbes, damaging the DNA structure and preventing their reproduction. This device provides sterilization and air purification for a space under 40m² or 60m² . It kills Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli,coronaviurs and hence works on any object surface, air or water that is infected by these germs.
UV sterilization principle and characteristics
Ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 253.7nm is easily absorbed by living organisms, as shown in Figure 1. The genetic material DNA causes the DNA to be destroyed and causes bacteria to die. 185nm UV Interaction with air produces strong oxygen, which can effectively kill bacteria.
